Creating a business email account and connecting your phone

0 viewsUpdated 14/09/2026

Create the mailbox

  1. Log in to cPanel and open Email → Email Accounts.
  2. Press Create, choose the domain, and enter the part before the @.
  3. Set a strong password and a mailbox quota (1 GB is plenty for most people).

Settings for your phone or Outlook

Use these wherever an app asks for "manual setup":

| Setting | Value | | --- | --- | | Incoming (IMAP) server | mail.yourdomain.com | | IMAP port | 993, SSL/TLS | | Outgoing (SMTP) server | mail.yourdomain.com | | SMTP port | 465, SSL/TLS | | Username | the full address, e.g. you@yourdomain.com | | Password | the mailbox password |

Choose IMAP, not POP3 — IMAP keeps the same mailbox in sync across your phone, laptop and webmail. POP3 downloads and removes mail, which is how people lose messages.

Webmail

Go to https://yourdomain.com/webmail from any browser and sign in with the full address.

If the app refuses to connect

  • Wait for DNS: mail.yourdomain.com only resolves after the domain points at us.
  • Until then, use the server hostname from your welcome email instead.
  • Make sure SSL is on. Some phones silently fail rather than warn when it is off.
