Getting Started

Migrating an existing website to us

0 viewsUpdated 14/09/2026

We do it for you, free

Send us a ticket with your old host's cPanel login (or a full backup file) and we migrate the site, databases and email for you at no cost. Most migrations finish within 6 working hours.

If you would rather do it yourself

  1. On the old host, go to cPanel → Backup → Download a Full Account Backup.
  2. Upload the resulting .tar.gz to your new account's home directory using File Manager or FTP.
  3. Open a ticket asking us to restore it — restoring a full backup needs root access, so we run this step.

Move the site before you change the nameservers

Point your computer at the new server first and check the site loads correctly:

  1. Edit your hosts file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts on Windows, /etc/hosts on macOS and Linux).
  2. Add a line: <your new server IP> yourdomain.com www.yourdomain.com
  3. Reload the site. You are now seeing the new server while the rest of the world still sees the old one.

Only after it looks right should you change the nameservers. Doing it in this order means visitors never see a broken site.

Do not cancel the old hosting for 7 days

DNS caches in Bangladesh can hold the old record for a full day. Keep the old account alive for a week so nothing is lost while the change propagates.
